Wattala Police Arrest Police Sergeant for Assaulting and Dragging Woman

In a recent incident, the Wattala Police have taken into custody a police sergeant who was involved in an alarming act of misconduct. The officer allegedly handcuffed and forcibly dragged a woman along the busy Wattala main road on the 16th of July.

According to reports, the altercation leading to this unfortunate incident stemmed from a dispute related to a transaction. Shockingly, it has come to light that the police sergeant resorted to physical assault against the woman during the course of this disagreement.

The incident came to the attention of the police station chief when he heard the distressing screams of a woman near the Wattala police station. Upon closer inspection, it was evident that the woman had sustained a head injury, resulting in bleeding.

The police sergeant involved in the incident was found to be present in the vicinity. Further investigations revealed that he was a special duty member of the Kurunduwatta Police, assigned to the Ja Ala Police.

Subsequent to these revelations, the sergeant in question was promptly apprehended. It was determined that the assault had taken place while he was en route to his residence late in the night. The Wattala Police took immediate action to ensure justice is served in this matter.
